We just added a slew of
2003 festival images to the photos section, so take a look! Also, be sure
to check out our Grand Jury, Special Jury, and Audience Award
winners.
WELCOME TO THE FIRST ANNUAL INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL
OF BOSTON! We have come a long way in the past year when we first had
thoughts of creating this film festival. It transformed from an idea
conceived by a few individuals, into a celebration of independent film
that involves filmmakers from across the country, arts organizations in
Boston, and the residents of Boston who will partake in the experience
this film festival engenders. None of this could have come to fruition
without our amazing and dedicated staff, all of our hard-working
volunteers, and the sponsors who believed in this first year event. I
would also like to impart specific thanks to Kristina Aikens, Ellie Lee,
Evos Arts, Chris Gore, Boston Film & Video Foundation, Boston Jewish
Film Festival, Women Make Movies, Meg MacRae at Gold Circle Films, Ned and
Ivy at the Brattle Theater, Clinton at the Coolidge Corner Theater, Sherri
at the Somerville Theater, Spruce, Cardullo’s, and my incredibly
supportive and understanding wife Laurie.
We invite comments of
praise and criticism, as we strive to make the Independent Film Festival
of Boston a successful and collaborative event for the filmmakers of the
world and the residents of Boston to enjoy.
